Is it fine to delete everything out of the temp folder after installing ?
I just installed a program for someone. (It's AOL 9.0 with from of their CD's) neither of us know too much about computer issues, but as all you snobs know AOL users are idiots anyway so I digress.

I just want to know whether it's safe or unsafe to delete the multiple files/incons which remain in the temp folder after installing.

2. I delete EVERYTHING in my temp folder at least twice a week
Do this:

Go to Start

Then go to Run

Type in %temp%

Then select and delete EVERYTHING.

6. I've got my windows/temp folder shortcut in my taskbar
I usually know if stuff is in there that something is going on out of the ordinary, that's why.

3. If the system will let you delete them it's probably OK
Files that are in use will be locked and you won't be able to delete them.

If you want to play it safe, create another folder called temp1 or whatever and move the files there. If the system seems to be working OK after a reboot and some normal use, go ahead and delete them.

4. To be safe,
never delete anything in the Temp folder with the current date.

Everything else can generally go.
