Inspiring Quote from Les Paul
I think this is from the NYT magazine from Sunday - all I have is the page itself:

"I came up playing with the best of the jazz and pop musicians in the 30's and 40's, and I believe if you want to stay at the top of anything, you've got to remain curious....Right now I'm trying my damndest to keep up with the latest computerized recording equipment."

Damn. The man is 88 years old...and he's still got a steady gig every Monday.

1. Les Paul and Mary Ford
How long has Les Paul been popular? Ages and ages. He used to be half of a musical partnership with Mary Ford. When I was a little kid (quite some time ago) we'd have the radio on in the kitchen listening to Klavin and Finch, morning hosts on WOR, I think. They were irreverent like Bob and Ray, and they'd introduce songs as "Less Paul and More Mary Ford". It took me a while to figure out what that meant.
