Post your computer tip-of-the-day here
Discovered this by accident, and it seems to work on many Windows applications --

Holding down the Ctrl key and using the mouse wheel, you can zoom in and out of what you're looking at. Works on MS Office programs, the Firefox browser, and this special purpose programming thingie I use at work (Rockwell RSLogix 5000.) My laptop at work has a large screen, 1680 x 1050 pixels, which comes in handy for a lot of things but sometimes text shows up small and my eyes aren't getting any younger... Fast zooming is really nice.

Got a handy tip? Share 'em.

9. Only works on 5000, not 500 for some reason
I'm learning all about those wonderful data structures on this project I'm working on right now...

BTW, besides you & me, Sybylla and her husband (I forget his screen name) are in the electrical controls/programming business, too.

4. Here's one I learned yesterday:
press control and print screen and you can copy a picture of the whole screen and then transfer it to a word document or an email. You just right click when you get to the desired tranfer point, click on paste, and it'll show up.

:D

16. That's awesome!
Of course, it truly did print the screen as well, so I had to run to the printer to keep my Republican coworkers from discovering that I spend my day posting on Democratic Underground.

17. Making sure the computer is plugged in is a handy tip.
And you have to turn on BOTH the monitor and the PC. (don't laugh I had to show a coworker that once)
