Anyone ever do any foreign investing?
I'm looking to invest in some short-term foreign bonds, and can't really find anything on Fidelity. Most of thier stuff is in stocks, which is riskier--I'm looking lower risk. Face it, the US dollar ain't gonna rebound anytime this year, so invetsing oevrseas makes sense since the interest is better, and I won't lose money by a change in the exchange rate (meaning the US dollar will probably lose more ground in the next year).

Any suggestions? Danke, merci, mille grazie and deukuju!

3. Ever try exchange-traded funds?
They are similar to mutual funds in that they are baskets of stocks or bonds, but they trade on the stock exchanges, so assuming you have a regular brokerage account at Fidelity, you should be able to purchase shares in an ETF (or closed-end fund) as you would a stock.

Try http://www.etfconnect.com for more information. If you select "Find a Fund", and then under the "Closed-End ETF's" drop-down list, select "Fixed Income - Global", you'll find about 40 ETF's to choose from. Not all of them will be purely foreign bonds and not all of them will be short-term bonds, but hopefully you'll find something there that fits your needs if you look through the list.

Other than that, I know very little about bonds, and absolutely nothing about investing in individual bonds, but I've done a little dabbling in ETF's and had some pretty good luck with them.
