Did anyone see Star Jones saying that it was a miracle that
she and her new hubby were not caught in the Tsunami as they Honeymooned in the Maldives one week prior to the event? Not sure of the exact wording.

She is one of the women on the TV show THE VIEW.

Jon Stewart also had the clip, too funny.

I am so glad God spared her and hubby cause thats all that matters.

What an awful thing to say, yuck Yuck, YUCK!! :puke:

Under no circumstances would I ever vote for an atheist for President because they are terrible and have no moral code.
-- Star Jones, on her television show, The View: she later refused to apologize after being called to the mat by atheist groups (March 16, 2002)

6. It was more like
God spared *my* life-- like her life is all that matters. It kills me to hear people talk like that. I could see that being said if you were in an accident and nobody else died, but in this case it's like saying God waited a month after you were gone in order to kill all the people who didn't deserve as much of a chance to live. :puke:

44. agree with you there. I don't think she meant it quite the way
Jon ran with it but his bit was so funny.

Hey, we all know she has an ego the size of Australia anyway

but I think it was one of those comments that was doomed.

Lots of people will say that they feel God blessed them because they missed being part of some bad circumstance or another.

I heard of many comments of that type regarding folks who were not in the World Trade Center that morning who normally would have been in the buildings, or near the buildings, and by a twist of fate were not. They felt they were being watched over by God. It's a fairly common reaction, not that I agree that God micromanages..far from it.

Stuff, happens, and if you luck out from bad stuff, then you luck out.

But Star Jones is one who will often say that she feels blessed about one thing or another, I have heard her say it many times.

47. Agree. I'm not Star fan or a theist so...
I wouldn't say thank god, but I doubt she meant thank god it was THEM and not her. We have a neighbor who works there much of the year. He was still home for the holidays and I expressed my relief. However, I in no way mean that I'm glad it happened to others.

I like to believe that's god's job and he's better qualified.*

But I do admit people like Star Jones make it mighty tempting.

*So...if there is no god, then we all ought to just STFD and STFU about each other, and if there is, right and wrong/good and bad is his business, being omniscient and all.
