They closed her office early but she wanted to stay. I told her she needs to leave now.

3. Tell her to leave and let the cops
handle it.

Chances are it is a scare, but you never know and better be
safe than sorry

4. The good news is that someone who wants to blow up a building doesn't CALL
first.

So stand assured it's a hoax. Someone wanted the day off or just simply wanted to be disruptive.

Nothing to worry about.

5. A building I used to work in got them all the time...
...fire engines, evacuations, the whole bit. It always turned out to be nothing, but even in my current building, if we leave the premises dring a fire drill, bomb scare, we get reported....ooooohhhh. :scared:

I hope it comes to nothing more than an inconvenience.

7. This happened all the time when I was teaching
at a land grant univerity in Texas that I won't name, but is known for jokes based on the stupidity of agricultural students...

the kids realized that this would disrupt the entire campus. Consequently there was a bomb alert that mirrored the exam cycle...

And with no training or protection, faculty and grad students were expected to go through classrooms looking for things that didn't look right.

It isn't very funny since for everyone's protection all threats must be taken seriously.

8. Uh, Demman, would this be Richmond, Virginia?

If so, can you tell me where she works? I would like to notify my workplace if possible. We get them once in a while and like to keep on top of who else are lucky recipients of bomb threats. I am sending good luck vibes to your wife. It is no fun to be in the middle of such stuff.

But take heart in the fact that 99% of the threats are bogus, and of the one percent that are true, the bomb is set to go off at the EXITS of the building or in the PARKING LOTS. Statistically, people are safer inside.
