Maybe you would have done the right thing, too, but I think she redeemed herself well when she helped the cops get him on tape.

I guess I'm more tolerant because I haven't seen her *ever* on TV, anywhere. We don't have it, so she and Gloria Alred haven't been invading my home every night.

But I wish people would cut her a break. She did far more that not "support Scott". She put his ass in jail.

I disagree with the death penalty, but I am sure glad he's off the street. Did you know that his former girlfriend also died under suspicious circumstances?

compassion for this woman. This is the second thread in here in which people have totally denigrated her.

I agree that she's not exactly my idea of how I would like my daughter to turn out, but if she did, I would still be proud of her.

And yes, I'm sure it's irritating to have to hear her story over and over again, but try putting yourself in her shoes for a minute or two.

She has basically no other resources. She is a mother. She didn't ask for this situation, but she's in it. She is basically obligated to her kid to try and make some money from telling her side of the story. She sure isn't going to have a shot at making a decent living in Fresno.

In the same situation, I would have done the same thing.

Maybe one or two interviews, but now she has gone overboard. It's ridiculous...Can you imagine the kind of life her child will have? Amber isn't making life easier for herself or her family by constantly appearing on TV.

A shitstorm has befallen her, and I really can't blame her for trying to profit off it. At least something good would come out of all of it.

Don't get me wrong, I think Peterson received too harsh of a sentence, even if he did do it. And Amber may not have made the wisest of decisions.

But really, who of us hasn't fucked up and done dumb things? Especially in our 20's....

If she makes a buck off the book, FINE. GOOD. Maybe she won't be pressured to fall for the first guy who has a steady paycheck. Being a single mom sucks, and will make you do unwise things sometimes.

I feel like I'm in Freeperland sometimes when it comes to the intolerance of people's human frailties and mistakes.

And, I'll add that women are always much more likely to be judged in such a harsh manor, it seems.

...I don't think she's at fault here- really. And now that her business, in all it's ugly detail, is out there for public scrutiny I really don't know what options she has. I doubt she's making a great deal of money off this because on each interview Gloria is right there next to her chiming in. She's probably taking most of the money.

Amber Frey bravely came forward and assisted law enforcement at significant risk to herself. She's been through a traumatic experience and is now telling that story to the public.

It's a catch 22. If she's silent, then the tabloids will speak for her. If she dares to sell a book, then she's called a whore. :eyes:

She was playing games with a man who just killed his wife and child- I give her a lot of credit for doing that.
When people write books, they go on book tours and do the publicity thing while the subject is fresh. Aron Rolston - the hiker who amputated his own arm - did the same thing, and I don't think people would call him a media whore. He has a story worth telling.
The moment will pass, and people will lose interest. If you don't want to watch, then don't.

None of these people asked to be involved in tragic circumstances. They were in the wrong place at the wrong time. And when they decide to tell their stories they are vilified and called names.

It was sad then, and it's sad now.
