(Former) Cat Stevens still can't come to the US
You get the feeling there isn't anyone at "Homeland Security" who actually knows what the f*** they are doing?

Cat Stevens Still Not Allowed In. U.S.

WASHINGTON -- As far as the U.S. government is concerned, the former Cat Stevens is still a baddie.

Yusuf Islam is still barred from entering the United States because of intelligence that identifies him as a security threat. Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said the intelligence is the same and the reasons the U.S. rejected Yusuf Islam several months ago still exist.

2. kinda makes ya wonder about the baddies at gitmo, huh?
i certainly hope that the folks holed up at gitmo deserve what they're getting. they tell us they're all enemy combatants, but how are we to know they don't have peter, paul, and mary tied up there?

THAT's why we have trials, folks. it's not so we know the evil guys are really evil. it's so we know the GOVERNMENT isn't evil.

5. You mean like Chaplin James Yee?

Cleric accused of spying leaves US military

"WASHINGTON, Jan 8: Capt James Yee, the Muslim Guantanamo Bay chaplain accused of espionage but later fully exonerated, left the US Army, his lawyer said on Saturday.

Friday was his last day in the army when he left the US military institution with an honourable discharge.

Capt Yee, a Muslim American, was arrested on Sept 10, 2003, and spent 76 days in a naval brig. He initially was linked to a potential spy ring operating at the naval prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he was counseling more than 650 Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters held there."

Those 'baddies at gitmo' are probably as 'bad' as this guy

3. he's not the only one
For instance some prominent members of the German 68 movement found themselves suddenly barred from entering the US. The stated reason being the closeness to the (disbanded) RAF terrorist group.

As example: Astrid Proll, now a renowned journalist, was not allowed to enter the US to visit her dying mother.
She wasn't even allowed to attend the funeral - even though she's been a frequent visitor to the US for decades.

4. Excuse me, but is anyone else totally fed up with the increasing
ineptitude of the cabal in charge? I am sure that the main reason that the prisoners have not been brought to trial is because there is no evidence that these citizens of the world are guilty of anything.

6. i have no doubt this is the case.
but it's also part of getting america used to a lack of due process.

first get america used to depriving right to the worst of the worst.

then extend it to others. soon there will be a drug-dealing pedophile rapist who is so heinous that he doesn't "deserve" a trial ....
