several gay-themed shows or performers were recognized tonight? Like Ellen Degeneres, "Will and Grace", "Queer Eye" and then there was that floozy show "Housewives."

So does that mean fundies only want to watch gays on TV??

1. It means they're hypocrites. Petty, small-minded hypocrites.
I call them Neo-Puritans. Ashcroft is their Patron Saint.

You see, obsessing over sex is a two way street, or maybe it really is only one way, hatred and fascination being the two lanes.

4. It means those people are NOT VOTING.
That's what it means, and that's why conservatives with their man date can shove it up their ass.

I saw some stat that said a favorite show among Republican women is "Will and Grace."

edited to add, here it is:

New York Times:

How to Sell a Candidate to a Porsche-Driving, Leno-Loving Nascar Fan
By KATHARINE Q. SEELYE
Published: December 6, 2004

....The data also yielded unexpected insights. One of the shows most popular with Republicans, especially Republican women ages 18 to 34, turned out to be "Will & Grace," the sitcom about gay life in New York. As a result, while Mr. Bush was shoring up his conservative credentials by supporting a constitutional amendment against same-sex marriage, his advertising team was buying time on a program that celebrates gay culture.

The Bush team broadcast commercials 473 times on "Will & Grace" in markets across the country from Jan. 1 to Nov. 2...(The Kerry campaign broadcast commercials 859 times on the show.)...

9. fundies are about 25%
of the electorate.

Since the electorate is about 50% of the adult population, that makes fundies about 12.5% of the population, assuming every fundie votes, which I dont think is completely correct, but not unreasonable either.

The point is that fundies are a small, albeit loud segment of the population. They alone can't really control anything.

10. maybe it means the country isn't so right wing
i don't think people are as "conservative" as this admin. wants us to believe. (hence: stacking the deck with redistricting; hence: stolen election)

people aren't glad we're clearcutting the forests
people don't want the water poisoned
or the air polluted
or their daughters back to square one (barefoot & pregnant, low wages)
or their social security cut back and eventually stolen from them
or their gay children looked down on

11. This country is Only "Overwhelmingly Pro Bush" if you watch...
...the news channels that say it is. If you live in the real world with the rest of us, you'll know that this country is, much as the election was, split right down the middle. I would say calling an election where you lost almost 50% of the vote a mandate is a bit too "optimistic".
