Anyone ever tried posting on Free Republic?

I just had to try it out. Quite amazing how I got kicked off the site w/in minutes just for posting an opposing point of view.

Kudos to the DU programming team. Being a web programmer myself, this is one of the best designed sites I've used.

I posted in a couple of threads before getting deactivated as a troll. They didn't send me a warning or anything...:eyes:

The place is run by an aging piece of trailer trash, and his son, who live in Fresno, CA. Most of the denizens are illiterate, southern white trash.

The owner pulls in probably over 200k a year off of that web site. He claims it costs that much to run that piece of crap site. His idiot donors don't know you can do just about the same thing for under $25 a month.

just a little bit of criticism of Bush gets you banned. I asked (there, because I genuinely wanted an answer, and I knew that asking here would just generate an avalanche of Bush criticism without an answer) whether Bush had ever personally, publicly apologised for anything - this was when he had sent his spokesman out to say "I apologise on behalf of the President for Abu Ghraib".

Of course, I got a torrent of abuse ("your father should apologise for not using a condom"), loads of "there's nothing to apologise for" (ignoring that the White House thought there was - Bush just wasn't man enough to face the cameras), and one or two thinking answers (someone suggested he had made the apology for the spy plane in China; and one or two even agreed he should have appeared himself. They were probably undercover DUers, though). Unfortunately, someone asked me when Bush had ever lied - and I answered with one example. That got me banned.

I posted a very wishy-washy protest ("as a Republican), so as to disguise myself...and minutes later my posting priviliges were revoked.

I assure you that my post was very camouflaged..I wrote like a Republican would and made a very wishy washy protest on something...and they still removed me.

Ironically, inheritance gave me a unique appreciation for how arbitrarily wealth can be distributed, and how little it often has to do with one's work ethic or contribution to society.

I agree about the design, incidentally. FR is genuinely hard to look at, all partisanship aside.

and still haven't been found out. Here's a couple hints:

1) Always refer to the Idiot Son as "President Bush".
2) Make sure you misspell a word or two. ("looser" for the word "loser" is a personal favorite.)
3) When referring to DU posters, you must come up with a cutesy name...ie: DUfus, or DUmmies, be imaginative, they love that.
4) Never ever use foul language! This is a dead giveaway, as Compassionate, Conservative, Christian, Busheeple would not do that.

And I'd like to add to your list.

1) No matter what currently resides between your legs... pretend you have a penis. For as much as they speak their love of women, they sure as hell don't respect them or enjoy conversing with them.

2) This goes without saying, but be a STRAIGHT, FRUSTRATED male.

3) Don't talk about Randi, Al, KO or any other "might be" liberal pundits are saying -- at least not until you've set up a pattern of hating those folks on CNN, ABC, MSNBC, CBS and NBC. It's almost always safe to discuss items from FAUX.

4) Stick to more 'social' postings at first. These are difficult to find because there really isn't a social area... but be on the lookout. The folks there are amazingly paranoid and you'll want to ease yourself into the community.

What finally got me kicked off?

I had the gall to suggest that not everybody felt that homosexuals were "degenerates".

Really, that's it. I'd spent a year staying low-key and interjecting occasional moderate comments and THAT'S why they banned me.

I have been checking out the conservative underground. I didn't know that existed until yesterday. Their site looks a lot like this one except they have a section that replies back to our posts. Is Free Republic worse than the CU?
