1. No
I thought it was a good gimmick. He was a pretty bad technical wrestler, tho.

4. I believe the worst wrestler ever was George 'Scrap Iron' Kadasky
Never won a match.

He even used to get beat up when he was a referee.

7. Horowitz puts on a pretty good show.
He never won over fans in the WWF, so was mainly a house show star or a dark match performer during major events. However, in the minor federations, he has had an incredible career.
He wrestled in the main Florida promotion for years, winning their title belt and getting over with the local fans. He later had a resurrection as a "hardcore" wrestler with the Future of Wrestling promotion. He was a jobber in the late 80s and early 90s on the WWF. But the WWF and the short lived WCW are only a small part of the national wrestling scene. They are the top of the pyramid. There are dozens of great performers who failed or never made it to the top of the field, but had wonderful "minor league" careers. Horowitz is in this category. I would liken him to "Crash Davis" in baseball lore.

12. up here, we have "NECW"
their matches can be tough on the eyes, but they've gotten better over the years.

a few times we've tried to get NECW chants going but onLy the wrestLers seemed to know what we were doing.

i twice interfered in the "big titLe match" - Last 2 times i did the same thing: the ref took a bump and was 'knocked out'. the face went for the cover (and the ref couLdn't make the count) - i was sitting front row so i dove into the ring and made a 3 count (i was a wee bit tipsy).

i actuaLLy didn't get in much troubLe the first time i did it. (aLthough the beLL never rang. i guess i needed to be a sanctioned NECW ref)

the next show (maybe a few months Later) i figured i'd do the same thing if the oppurtunity presented itseLf.. and it did just that.
this time, my baLLs had shrunk a bit so just Leaned into the ring for the 3 count (rather than diving in). when i got back to my seat the guy sitting next to me began to give me shit and threaten to kick my ass if i got up again... i was with a few friends (and i'm very stubborn) so i gave it right back to him...... a few minutes Later that same guy interfered in a match; he was one of the wrestLers. i'm gLad i didn't take him up on his offer. :P

after the matches we were making our way out when (the promoter) got in the ring with that same guy (his name was "thomas" - don't know his gimmick) and was chaLLenging me/us to step in the ring. i wanted no part of it but one of my friends burst into (very fake) rage - threatening them both, and screaming Let me at him (whiLe we heLd him back). it was a good show. :D

14. Sounds like you had a great time
That is the way to get into the business. Get a local promoter to see you and give you a chance. I consider myself a fan, but I really have not been to a match in 6 or so years. I don't follow the WWE anymore. The death of Owen Hart pretty much drove me away from the major stuff. That was so sad. I was lucky enough to take a flight from LA to Atlanta with him (we sat next to each other in business class) and we talked quite a bit. He even followed through and sent me some autographs and tickets to a house show where I live.

Anyway, I never had any involvement in the wrestling business, just an old fan, but I enjoy hearing about these things from time to time.

9. I don't know, "Scotty Too Hotty" was pretty friggin' awful...
...lame gimmick and the DUMBEST finisher I've ever seen ("The Worm." You know if you've seen it). Pretty athletic moving around the ring, but he was too small and had zero personality so he couldn't be successful on his own (at least, back when I was still watching wrestling). He was most over as a flunkie/dance partner of Rikishi's.

15. OH!!! And how could I have forgotten "The Road Dog"...
Edited on Thu Jan-13-05 09:33 AM by Crankie Avalon
...Jesse James. Embarrasingly bad in the ring. Annoying and one-dimensional ("Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages...") on the mic. AND he had the nerve, out of jealousy, to try and get a performer with actual talent like Chris Jericho buried.

And another thing, "X-PAC SUCKS!!!!!!"
