5. Quotes from website:
Edited on Thu Jan-13-05 10:57 AM by kick-ass-bob
Read the letters of George Washington. Read the Mayflower compact and see for yourself. The people who came to establish America came as Born-Again Christians. They dedicated this land to Jesus Christ. Most of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence were Christian Pastors!

me: Yes, but not all - and I think there might have even been an atheist/agnostic sign!

Our desire is to once again see our beautiful country become the Christian nation God had in mind when he sent our forefathers to establish the United States of America… "One Nation Under God!"

7. You know what's sad about all of this?
Despite the fact that the original settlers were, in fact, Puritans, the majority of the founding fathers explicitly stated that the American govnerment was not based on religious principles, and some even went so far as to decry organized religion as the prison of the small minded.

But them was big words.

10. Fact is
That the Puritans and Plymouth Rock, were founded about 170 years BEFORE the constitution was written. They weren't founding fathers. Things changed quite a bit in the intervening years.

11. "Born-again"? what a bunch of HOOEY....
Edited on Thu Jan-13-05 11:21 AM by BiggJawn
"The people who came to establish America came as Born-Again Christians."

Bullshit. The "Born-Again" movement places its birth in a warehouse-cum-church on Azusa Street in San Francisco in April, 1906.

The concept of being "Born Again" wasn't realized in the mid-1700's.

"America leads the world in technology. We lead the world in weaponry. "

Oh, yes, VERY important, that weaponry...Can't shake your dick at the rest of the world without it....

12. I didn't get it at first either
Someone else had posted that it means that God has blessed us, and that we need to be thankful. The wording of the sticker is unusual, but it does make some sense.
