Clint Eastwood Praises Michael Moore, Threatens Life
Clint Eastwood at the National Board of Review awards dinner on Tuesday night, at which he accepted a Special Filmmaking Achievement prize for "Million Dollar Baby" and Michael Moore picked up a special "Freedom of Expression" award for "Fahrenheit 9/11": "Michael Moore and I actually have a lot in common -- we both appreciate living in a country where there's free expression. But, Michael, if you ever show up at my front door with a camera -- I'll kill you ... I mean it."

1. It was a joke
From the same link

Sitting well out of range at a table in back, Moore - who received a special "Freedom of Expression" award for his anti-Bush polemic "Fahrenheit 9/11" - chuckled.

But, in this case, Moore's rep told me yesterday: "Michael laughed along with everyone else, and took Mr. Eastwood's comments in the lighthearted spirit in which they were given."

2. more like a fair warning than a threat
Reminds me of the SNL skit with Ashton Kutcher and Tracey Lawrence. Do not even think about punking me.

4. I'd give Clint a little more credit for intelligence
than to stand in front of a microphone in a room full of people with cameras running and seriously threaten someone's life.
