Question for Mac peoples
Seriously looking at getting the new cheapie Mac coming out, but I'd like to review what kind of games I can play on a Mac. Your favorite Mac software links or advice is appreciated!

2. We only get the best games on the Mac
Because nobody bothers to port the crappy ones from Windows.

The links above are good, and you might also want to check these two:

Mac Game Files (demos, shareware, freeware games, game updates)
http://www.macgamefiles.com

MacSoft (company that ports many Windows games to the Mac)
http://www.macsoft.com

Figure on a 6-12 month delay from the Windows release in most cases, except where the game was developed multiplatform from the start.

7. Are you a gamer?
Because the Mac mini is really geared toward the internet/photos/word processing crowd. It's a pretty nice little machine, but if games are your biggest concern, you should consider at least an iMac. The new ones have G5s in them.

9. Try me for a sec.
Soerry to butt in, but I was thinking about that Zoo Tycoon or RR Tycoon. ZTC has a set of 3 games with Sea World on it too, I think.

I love Majesty, Sim City, Theme Park, Populous...you know, boring building and stealing money games.

BTW: They need to update Sim Theme Park with a new one. The RC Tcoon guy reprtedly hates Macs, and will never release his on it.:grr:

10. Your genre of games are certainly available on the mac

Railroad Tycoon 3
http://www.macsoftgames.com/products/RRT3/RRT3.html

Zoo Tycoon
http://www.macsoftgames.com/products/RRT3/RRT3.html

Sim City 4
http://www.aspyr.com/noframes.php/games.php/mac/sc4/

Others are available too. Usually only popular or successful games make it onto the mac. Unfortunately this includes some crappy but popular games as well (True Crime, for example :puke:) Keep an eye on this website to find out what new stuff is coming out.

11. See Macplay.
We play the Baldur's Gate line and Neverwinter nights pretty exclusively, thought DH plays/played Diablo, Planescape Torment and Dungeon Siege. (Then again, he still plays Moria on his Zarus.) He's also a big fan of Warcraft.

I've played a couple of strategy type games, like Age of Empires and simulations.

There are a lot of games IF YOU LOOK. Basically, you have to buy from an apple shop, on line, or CompUSA. Mall Wart and Target don't carry them.
