Padraig18 needs your good vibes and prayers today.
We're leaving for the hospital in a few, and he'll have surgery on his cervical disc later this morning. He has an excellent neurosurgeon and we're all 3 confident of a good surgical result. I'll update this thread later today, to let y'all know how things went.

40. Update:
After 3 1/2 hours in surgery, Paddy's now in the Special Care Unit (post-op care); his surgery went extremely well, and the neurosurgeon anticipates 'an uneventful recovery'. He should be able to come home Sunday morning. When I left, he was sleeping off the remainder of the anesthesia and a healthy dose of morphine, having finished complaining that his butt hurt where they took the bone graft.

I'm glad to hear that everything went well. My mom had back surgery where they had to do a bone graft, and she said the area where they took the graft hurt worse than the surgery area.

I hope he has a full and speedy recovery. :hug:
