What subjects would you like to see in a movie?
I myself would love to see another D-Day epic ala The Longest Day. Yes, I know what Saving Private Ryan is but thats not really truly even a D-Day story.

1. I'd like to see a movie made...
of Orwell's "Homage to Catalonia". Yep, it'd have zero appeal here, but I'd still love to see it done well.

3. thats about his experiences in the spanish civil war isn't it?
You know they have never really made a good movie that I know of about the Spanish Civil War which is a shame honest becasue it was the prelude to WWII.

7. Yes..
it's about his volunteer service to the Republic. Orwell is very objective in his views and is not without sympathy to individual Fascist soldiers.

9. More movies staring Ewan McGregor would make me *very* happy!
Also I would like to see The Lord of the Rings done the right way. With everything from the book in it. Not just what Peter Jackson wants to put in, or his interpretation of certain things. :grr:

10. World War One combat
Seen lots of WW 2, Vietnam, and Civil War, not much in terms of WW1 soldiers. All's Quite on the Western Front and The Lost Battalion, notwithstanding. Just think of the production values of a film that showed WW1 battles. God, they were terrible.

14. Good point, it started really right after WWI
and continued into the 30's. WWII industrialism is what did it in.

It did start then. The Great Depression just made it expand a lot.

18. I'd like to see a movie about Dynamo Kiev (WWII soccer team)...
when the Nazis occupied Ukraine the sports teams were broken up, and several of the former stars of Dynamo Kiev wound up working for a bakery owner who sponsored a new team called FC Start. FC Start played (and defeated) all comers, whipping up on every German team they faced. Finally, the Germans selected a hand-picked Luftwaffe team, which was defeated. There was a rematch, and the Kiev players were told they'd better lose...or else. They won, and all of them were sent to camps afterwards....but their actions had served to inspire a sense of pride and resistance. Amazing story, really.

19. This might sound morbid and disrespectful
But an incident that occurred a couple months ago could be made into a great movie. The incident that I am referring to is the incident in Northern Wisconsin where a Hmong hunter killed several white Wisconsin hunters. He is claiming that they hurled racial insults at him and shot at him. The hunters claim that he just open fired after they told him to get off their property. In my movie, it would show flashbacks with both versions. Towards the end, it would show what actually happened which would turn out to make both their stories somewhat correct from how the individuals interrpreted the events. That would of course make it all the more tragic from both the defendent and the dead and injured hunters point of view.
I don't think that the case has even been tried yet. This is just my speculation, which I am not trying to convinve anyone of. I just think that it could make an interesting story and could be done well with film.
