3. Funny thing is. No one would bet against the Colts last week.

That changed in a hurry. I still think the Colts were the most dangerous, but obviously not tough enough.

Edited on Tue Jan-18-05 02:26 AM by Seabiscuit
that beat the Colts.

Earlier this year the Colts had New England's number. They're still a very dangerous team. If they'd played Pittsburgh instead of New England last weekend they'd probably still be alive, especially the way Pittsburgh's young QB played (I can't spell his name). But if that were the case, they'd have to go through New England this weekend. I just don't think they can beat the Pats in Foxboro in the winter.

How did they "have their number"?

I would like to see Pittsburgh with the rookie Ben win it, but somehow the Pats just seem to come out with the tough victories consistantly. I will say that whoever wins the AFC game should win the Superbowl. Phillys defense is good, but both NE and Pittsburgh have much better defenses than Minnesota had. Philly barely beat the Redskins in their last matchup, simply because the 'Skins couldn't muster enough offense.

12. I love the Falcons, but...
Did you see how the Patriots play? I can't envision that team ever losing again - to Pittsburgh or to Atlanta.

But of course, the team will eventually have to be broken up...

Do the buffed-out, steroid-soaked HR hitting rich guys in baseball always win? Then how do you explain the Red Sox' miracle? OK. The rich guys with pitchers with bloody ankles always win in baseball.

16. I've never seen German Soccer.
I get like two English League Soccer games on my cable system a week, and they're all at midnight or seven AM on different days of the week.

There are some Spanish language ones, too, but since there are no subtitles, I typically get a headache after awhile.

I really don't have a favorite team. I just like to watch the games sometimes.

Its just that when I lived in Germany I saw Bayern Munich stuff everywhere . I see UEFA soccer on my cable too sometimes but I miss how everyone would stop whatever they were doing just to watch the soccer matches or call into work sick when their favorite clubs lost .

22. E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
T.O. will be back for the Super Bowl after we dispose of the highly overrated Michael Vick and the Falcons this Sunday. And there we will be underdogs to the New England Patriots by about 3 and a hook to 4 points. Quite like the Denver Broncos against the Green Bay Packers we will play the underdog role and give all the credit to the Pats and then sneak up and win after their injuries finally catch up to them. Hey, it could happen.

35. Yeah it was pretty cold. Good football weather.
As seasoned veterans we were ok. You just have to dress properly. We got out there at 8 AM and the party was already going. It was electric and this week is going to be even crazier. I can't wait.

36. You have tickets again this week?
The baseball playoff system sucks. My family had (partial) season tickets for years - you basically got the chance for 2 (usually crappy) seats for the playoff games. One of my favorite memories is watching the Phils beat the Braves to win the pennant (the same night my theater group subbed for Billy Joel and sang the Anthem)

Good for you! Have a beer for me!!!!!! Go Eagles!!! Hope you can also add an Atlanta ass-kickin to your store of favorite memories!!!!

Stay warm, and be sure to report back to DU. You hoping for an all-PA Superbowl?

40. Oh Yeah, I'll be there.
I have season tickets in the South End Zone upper deck, great seats. Sec 211 row 13.

I was at that game too when Mitch Williams got the strikeout to end the series. I was on the 200 level at first base. I was also all painted up and walking around with a rubber rat that had a Phillies cap on it. Great time.

I will have more than one beer for you my friend, heh. Unlike the other years I really feel confident and have no fear at all that we could lose this game. It's going to be a good one. I wouldn't mind getting another shot at the Steelers because they caught us at just the right time this year and we are far better than that. Unfortunately, I don't see them beating New England again. They only let you get away with that once.

I will be warm and I will certainly report on the game Win or win. Heh.

Is that a joke? BTW, the Colts had the worst defence of a playoff team. The Steelers and the Eagles would be much tougher.

41. how can anyone not think the Steelers?
After last week's wake up call, we're going to annhilate the Patriots, something that we've already done once this season.

Then, after that, we're going to stomp the shit outta Atlanta in the Super Bowl.
