"FAMILY GUY" SET FOR FREAKIN' SWEET SEASON PREMIERE SUNDAY, MAY 1
FAMILY GUY is back by popular demand with all-new episodes beginning Sunday, May 1 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX, it was announced today by Gail Berman, President, Entertainment for the Fox Broadcasting Co.

Since its debut in 1999, the Emmy-nominated animated series has attracted an impressively loyal following of devoted fans and has sold over 3.5 million combined DVD units, making it the fourth-largest TV series seller ever.

Creator/executive producer Seth MacFarlane will continue to serve up the distinctively twisted and irreverently outrageous trials and tribulations of PETER GRIFFIN (MacFARLANE) and his not-quite-so-average family of middle-class New Englanders. LOIS (Alex Borstein) is Peter's loving wife, who struggles to maintain a modicum of normalcy in their home life. Then there are their kids: angst-ridden, 16-year-old MEG (Mila Kunis), who only really wants to be noticed; 13-year-old CHRIS (Seth Green), a sweet-natured slacker; and 1-year-old STEWIE (MacFarlane), a diabolically clever baby who's already bent on world domination. Rounding out the Griffin household is BRIAN (MacFarlane), the brainy family pooch who likes his martinis as dry as his Mighty Dog.

FAMILY GUY is a 20th Century Fox Television production. Seth MacFarlane is creator/executive producer with David A. Goodman as executive producer/showrunner, and Chris Sheridan as executive producer.

1. On Sunday
when they showed a couple of older episodes, they said that new ones would be coming out on May 1, and the teaser showed Bryan rubbing his ass all over Mr. Pewterschmidt's floor - looks quality.

3. I can't wait.
Family Guy is one of the few shows on television that can make me laugh anymore. It's also a rare case of justice being done for a show that was prematurely canceled.

The sad part is, since the show has premiered, The Simpsons' writers have strived to replicate the more outrageous nature of Family Guy, completely wrecking it in my eyes.

7. I only saw the pilot on Fox, and then it went away.
I never understood why they cancelled it, or whatever the fuck.

I thought Stewie was Hi Larious.

8. My 10-year-old son is happy to hear that
I'm usually in and out of the room when it's on but I enjoy it- especially Stewie, who seems like he could be Mini-me to Mr. Burns.

11. How many millions has Futurama sold? And he said 'units'...
:P :D

Futurama seems wittier and better drawn... not to say Family Guy is bad, mind you...

But I can find nary a website that discloses which show gets how many sales on DVD. Seems unfair.

Not that it'd matter... FOX hated Futurama anyway. It was never sure about Family Guy either... And is 3.5 million purchasers equatable to 3.5 million viewers?
