Nervous eating-Comfort Foods. What's your choice?
I generally go for low cal choices first because I can gain 3 pounds just by walking past a chocolate cake. So, my first choices for nervous eating are tic-tacs and comfort food: Angel Food cake, jello, snak-pak pudding.

16. Mashed potatoes would never be my choice because I hate feeling
bloated. With Chocolate I know I'll get sick before I get bloated.

3. Belgian Cream Puffs!
They're in the freezer case, come 30 to a box. Each one is a perfect mouth full, not toooooo sweet, filled with real whip cream.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, I want about 10 or 15 right now!!!

4. Melted mozzarella cheese mixed with jalapeno peppers. Or pure sugar candy
Like jelly beans.

Baked chicken (very high in cholesterol) is also a favorite of mine. I absolutely revel in it! Fried chicken, too!

6. I'm rilly rilly trying
to get away from "nervous eating" but it's hard work. :-) I'll tell you something cool I found not too long ago--Tea Tree Australian Chewing Sticks. They're toothpicks infused with Tea Tree oil, quite bracing, and they give your mouth something to do besides consume food.

But, to answer your question, my fave anxiety comfort food is nachos.

9. Well, it depends on why I need comfort food.
If I'm just anxiety-ridden, I like crunchy. Popcorn, chips-n-dip, carrots with ranch dressing. Pistachios keep the hands busy. Sometimes Bubbalicious.

If I'm depressed or have PMS, I go for the sweet stuff: nutella, tollhouse cookies, just about any kind of pie.

If I'm trying to be good, I'll eat grapes, clementines, or berries.

I'm hungry...

17. I haven't been able to make a good s'more in years.
The marshmallows have to be suitably brown and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and the chocolate must be soft. The Graham cracker need to cling to the marshmallow when you bite into it. I hate it when it explodes and crumbles into little pieces.

12. Mexican food!
Tacos...potatoe and egg, bacon and egg, any of them with cheese (melted!)...

Or good tamales, with plenty of chili gravy...

Or enchiladas...the good kind, with cheese, onions, and more cheese melted on top, doused in lots of chili gravy...

And tortillas! Flour tortillas, fresh off the griddle, with butter! And home made corn tortillas, the good kind, home made, thick in the center, hot and wonderful, with more butter!

:9 (Which is the closest I could come to a look of pure bliss!)

20. Hot buttered popcorn
White hull-less variety, cooked on the stovetop in my Martha Stewart enameled iron pot in extra virgin olive on low heat till the kernels are golden. Then turn the burner up to medium high and listen to it popping furiously, Martha's heavy lid sometimes lifted slightly by the explosion of steam. Wait, briefly, for the reports to become muffled, the popping less frequent and remove it from the heat at once. Serve in a big bowl with melted clarified butter -- ordinary melted butter if I need extra comfort -- and seasoned with finely ground salt.

25. Don't you just hate bland guacamole?
You know where I had the absolute worst guacamole in my life? In a Mexican restaurant! The guacamole had no taste to it and the pork was a crispy flake. The only thing that passed muster was the chips and Margaritas.

27. I always make my own. It's only good when it's
freshly made and allowed to chill for about two hours. Diced tomatoes, jalapenos, onion, garlic, cilantro, salt, lemon juice and about four hass avocados.

Cheese filled, with extra old cheddar melted on top, and smothered in fried onions, with sour cream to slather with. My arteries are hardening as we speak.
