1. Cookie Monster.
He was always my favorite. Ernie was a close second.

What can I say? Screw Barbie, I was a Sesame Street kid through and through.

20. Always had been fond of Bert--
he has to have a lot of patience living with Ernie, whose sense of humor sometimes seems directed *at* Bert in some way. His ability to take the joke--nay, to even be the joke, is what friendship is sometimes all about. And he likes the kind of quiet stuff I could be down with, paper clips, pigeons, sharing. Anyone remember the Christmas special with Bert and Ernie doing the "Gift of the Magi"--where Bert sold his paper clip collection to get Ernie a soap dish for rubber ducky, and Ernie sold rubber ducky to get a cigar box for Bert's paper clips? I hought that was really neat.

25. Gordon
Just a beautiful guy.

The original Gordon, Matt Robinson, was the father of Holly Robinson Peete, of 21 Jumpstreet and For Your Love, and who got to hang out with Big Bird, et al when she was four.

28. Question...how can so many people like Elmo? He wasn't even an
original SS character...

I don't know, Elmo irritates me because he took over SS and turned it pretty much into Elmo Hour. Sesame Street hasn't been the same in YEARS.

40. Yeah, they should bring back the decomposing corpse of Mr. Hooper.
He was an original character.

:eyes:

The show is over 30 years old, God bless them. People come, people go. Jim Henson's gone. New blood is a good thing. And I, for one, am glad they've diversified to include gay African-American puppeteers.
