Man, I swear these guys are one of the best things going right now. They have quietly compiled one hell of a nice discography!

1. Just saw them a month ago, with the Thorns.
Gary's still got it, that's for sure. The Jayhawks opened for my band years ago (twice!), when Mark Olson was still with them. They were great then; they're great now. "Hollywood Town Hall" is a classic.

Actually, that was the last record of theirs I bought. Can anyone recommend a more recent one?

And it's pretty good. Maybe not as good as some of their earlier stuff. But I like it. They remind me a lot ot the Byrds. Great vocals.

5. Strangely I've never gotten into them despite....
Loving bands of that style (jangly indie pop with country roots). I love the Old 97's, Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Wilco, Whiskeytown, Neko Case and all the other bands/artists they get lumped in with but never actually have checked out the Jayhawks.

7. Tomorrow the Green Grass
Great album. Not a bad song on it. Hollywood Town Hall is also excellent.
