1. I love that movie.
It'd been a couple of years since I'd seen it, but it's on cable this month so i saw it again last week.

Great flick.

2. I LOVE Pacino.
I always love watching him, no matter what the movie, he is always great. I never could watch Scarface though, could not get past the chainsaw scene.

7. Puh-leeze.
Pacino got paid to chew up the scenery, and he did. That sorry flick doesn't begin to compare with his work in Scarface, Dog Day, Godfather, Justice for All, Needle Park, etc., etcetera.

I had to laugh at that one. That whole shpiel in Devil's Advocate is a caricature of this persona he's come increasingly to rely on since Scarface: the Yeller. He's capable of so much more. He's just jerking off in that movie. It's embarrasing, really.

16. He's right.
Charlize Theron is cute, though.

I thought the movie, overall, was trite.

10. a lot of overdoing it, yes, but there's a scene - at one of the first
parties, I think (in The Devil's Advocate) where the Keanu character is in a balcony and Pacino turns and smiles up at him and it's just wonderful. He may be hamming it up, but that image, that smile, stays in my mind.

17. It seems as if all the good actors from the 70s have become caricatures
Just look at Deniro and Nicholson
