Rush on Oxy, PlameGate, my kid makes the winning TD with 47 secs left

Can it get any better than this? My kid's H.S. football team was behind by 1 point last nite. After a horrible game where the defense spent the whole time on the field and the offense hadn't scored a single point, they went 60 yards in 2 minutes to the 17 yard line. 4th and 6 on the 17, 47 seconds left, the quarterback rolls out and throws a hail-mary into the corner of the end zone where the split end is waiting with nobody around. Bad news: a defensive player had a handful of the QB's jersey, causing him to throw a wobbler that was about 5 yards short of target. All of a sudde, from across the end zone, some kid comes flying acros and snags it about 2 feet from the out of bounds maker; Touch Down! The crowd goes wild! We're all screaming and yelling, and I'm looking for my kid, when suddenly people start yelling "Ethan!". I look back, and the kid holding the ball had a big fat "40" on his jersey. Holy smokes, that's my son! I'm sure he'll spend today as the Freshman B.M.O.C., then it's back to the books.

What a wonderful feeling that must have been for you and your son.

:toast: Congratulations! I hope you caught the moment on film as I was able to.........it's still hanging in my living room from 6 years ago.

Enjoy these moments. Kids have a nasty habit of growing up and going away to college. Believe me, I'm an empty nester now and I still go back and look through the photo albums....I wouldn't have missed those moments for anything!
