I have always loved the sentiment, but the lyrics after 9/11 are especially chilling.

Denver could write highly singable songs. To my ear, they often sounded better when Mary Travers got a hold of them.

my aunt and uncle used to cover that song in a folk band they were in, and I always liked it.

An Evening With John Denver is my favorite all time album. I miss him dearly.

I have no idea what the name is! I seriously do like it too! I would even download it on limewire if i knew the name! :P

He was a committed environmentalist and really worked hard for that cause.

I was sad when he died because he was working so hard to try to preserve the wilderness in Alaska.

but faves are Calypso, Feather Bed, Forest Lawn, Mother Nature's Son, the "up in a meadow in Jasper Alberta" one...

I think I'll have to go get my John Denver boxed set of CDs out now!

Do I have the title right? On this album he did a cover of John Prine's 'Angel From Montgomery'. He did a good job. I always thought it was his best record.

but I'm Sorry does make me cry....

(Those would be favorites...but the Eagle and the Hawk is awesome as well....)
