1. I'm glad for you
and thank you for the photo. Realize I'm an old dinosaur who has no clue as to who this person is or what kind of music he plays.

6. You'd probably like him...
Steve is on the verge of dinosaur status himself. He turned 50 this month.

5. Lucky You
I'm a huge Steve Earle fan. Back in the early-mid ninties he was supposed to play my hometown. I was psyched. My friends and I had our tickets and we were at my place listening to his CDs and having a few warmup drinks before the concert. Three hours before the show was set to start we got the news he was busted by the cops and the show was canceled. That was back in the days when his drug problems got the best of him. Never got to see him, but maybe someday I will.
I'm glad he got his life turned around.
He's a great artist.
Enjoy the show.

7. More Steve Earle information here (for newbies)
His official site, including some audio clips: www.steveearle.com/

And the main unofficial site: www.steveearle.net/

Yeah, he's got good political ideas. He's also a kickass songwriter--& not just a "topical" one. His voice ain't that great, but he sings with feeling (like many songwriters) & knows about good musical backup. Solo acoustic, blistering rock, Bluegrass, Irish & honky tonk--he does it all.

And he's coming to Texas next month but NOT to Houston. Damn.
