5. I just got back from my first trip there
It is paradise. I'm not one for superlatives, but it is truly a wonderful place. Whales spouting. Perfect weather. Nice people. Great food (Mama's fishouse was the BEST fish I've ever had). Ocean. Mountains. Sun. Relaxation. What more can I add?

13. Did you eat any raw fish while you were at Mama's?
Sashimi? Did you drive to Hana? I hope you didn't feel a bit "woozy" while driving there.

16. I didn't make the drive to Hana
Next time. I am in love with Maui. Understand, I'm a Chicago boy. No mountains, and the closest I ever got to an ocean is Lake Michigan (at least until I was a grown-up). I've done a fair amount of traveling, but I've never had the same experience as I had visiting your home island. I did not have the sashimi. I will next time. I had the macadamia-encrusted crabcakes. I LOVE crabcakes (it should be on my list, but I narrowed it to the top ten). I've eaten crabcakes all over this wonderful country of ours. Until I went to Mama's I thought the best I;ve ever had were in South Carolina. Those at Mama's were head and shoulders above the previous best. Also had Opakapaka (caught that morning off Molokai). It was prepared in white wine and garlic. I am a HUGE fish fan, and this was the absolute best fish I've ever had. Tremendous place. Tremendous people You are very lucky. Cheers.
