6:8
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

4. Numbers 22:32-33 (NRSV)
"The angel of the Lord said to him (Balaam), 'Why have you struck your donkey these three times? I have come out as an adversary, because your way is perverse before me. The donkey saw me, and turned away from me these three times. If it had not turned away from me, surely just now I would have killed you and let it live.'"

Thus saith the Lord...Thanks be to God! :kick:

6. Ecclesiastes there is nothing new under the sun

Actually I like the whole thing...it really makes one aware of the vastness of life...and it lets us know in no uncertain terms we own none it's all a symbiotic union, but this is my very favorite part: "Vanity of vanities! All is vanity." --

10. Jesus had some good comments about hypocrites
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 03:05 AM by Radical Activist
That apply to Dubya so well. I think this one says it best.

Matthew 23:25-28

25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

This one is about all the leaders of the Christian right who are just like the religious leaders Jesus was speaking about.

Matthew 15: 7-8
7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

11. Matthew 6:5
6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
