Who was your favorite Northern Exposure character, and why?
Since there seem to be a lot of NE fans onsite right now!

I had the hots for Maggie (Janine Turner).

8. I do NOT understand collagen in the UPPER lip
That does NOT look natural, dammit!

She already had that adorable bee-stung look on her lower lip. :(

14. Geez...
Edited on Fri Jan-28-05 10:59 AM by jswordy
...that's awful. And to think, looking at that 1994 pic of her just "stirred my loins" again. Ahem.

But in this artificial tears spot she does now, she looks like she rose from the grave. I keep resisting the urge to plunge a silver spike into the TV set!

ROFL...too bad, she was hot as hot could be.

Chris the DJ (John Corbett) used to quote philosophers. He'd throw in Joseph Campbell a lot, and that was cool with me, I like Campbell.

I also liked Ruth-Anne Miller (Peg Phillips, rest her soul). And Leonard Quinhagak (Graham Greene).

WAAAAAAAH-HA-HA-HA! Sigh. Nothing even touches it on TV today, IMHO.

UNDER EDIT: ...well, maybe West wing...

I don't remember his name. He was too cool for words.

16. Sorry you feel that way, but I did find it interesting...
...that the exact same concept with something of the same feel to it was recycled in the series "Ed."

And I like Maggie because she was an independent woman yadda yadda yadda .... until I found out she was a fundie now even though I still love the show I try to focus on all the quirkinesses of all the other characters

17. The character Maggie was a fundie in the show? WOW
I never saw that! Or are you talking about Janine Turner?

Does politics and religion way that heavily in all your interactions, even TV shows?

19. Janine Turner is a fundie now
And it just makes me look differently at her.

I think it is so funny that people treat politics as something different and something other than every day life. Yes I try to make my politics jive with my everyday life... no Wal-Mart try to buy Union try to support local businesses... try not to support those that support ideologies that I find repulsive.

Just on a soap box now because someone in the SC Forum dines at an openly racist BBQ restaurant because he "doesn't mix politics with food"

28. All of them
At its peak, it was the best show in TV history, IMHO.
Pure escapism. The Xmas episode where Holling sang in the little church blew me away. Even Maurice was cool.

It's amazing how they screwed it up when Rob Morrow left. I thought it would have been cool to have Alan Alda come on actually playing an older Dr. Hawkeye Pierce. Imagine the debates he would've had with Maurice!

Beers at The Brick anyone??
