Battle of the Comedy Groups: Monty Python vs. The Three Stooges
I'm not sure where I come down on this one, but probably on Python. Stooges are a hella laugh fest, but after an hour it gets tiring. Python is clever and witty enough that it still also involves thinking, and so takes days before getting tiring, assuming it happens at all.

But for sheer hilarity per moment density, the Stooges, I think, get it.

1. Python
Seems I'm a typical female - I think The Three Stooges are just not funny.

2. Python
The Three Stooges basically did the same routine with different subjects. There is far more depth in Monty Python.

3. Python, and I agree with Book Lover, the Three Stooges aren't funny.
I could never understand why people like them but that's just me, I guess.

4. Python
broader subject matter!
I prefer Laurel and Hardy over the 3 Stooges for slapstick.
Marx Brothers better comparison for Python. Love both!

7. Stooges
It was slapstick, but slapstick is just plain funnier. Everybody can laugh at a pie in the face or a pratfall. Before you could have Python you had to have the Stooges.

6. Python...Stooges were too misogynistic
But one of my favorite lines ever from the Stooges was "Awww, ya hit Santa! Just for that no toys!"

8. Definitely Python.
Even Benny Hill is funnier than the Three Stooges!

10. It's a tough call for me, too.
I do like The Stooges (Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!), but there's a lot to be said for silly walks. Let's all email my young biologist friend Dr. Anna Cronin in the U.K. and see what she thinks (she's gonna hate me for this!).

11. Different humour.
But I have to go with the Three Stoogies.
