We're having an ice storm.
I'm in North Georgia just northwest of Atlanta. The rain is coming down and freezing as soon as it hits the ground.

2. The worse thing is that you don't dare drive.
Where I live, the county doesn't have the equipment to de-ice the roads like in Atlanta.

4. they only barely do it in town.
I remember having to get out on the downtown connector during the "blizzard" of '93. Saturday at 10:30 am, and mine was the only car on 75/85.

You stocked up on milk and bread I assume. :D

5. ugh
I was about to say that things are probably worse around Atlanta. That may be true, but Atlanta will deal with it faster.

7. heh - when I first got up
my cat wouldn't leave me alone. He wanted to go out, but he expected me to turn off the ice first. He finally gave up and went to sleep.

12. Just snow in the NC foothills.
Hope it stays that way.

16. To all of you affected by the freezing rain
Please....be careful if you absolutely have to go out any where. Watch out not only for sliding out of control vehicles but also for breaking/broken tree branches and downed power lines and poles.

Ice storms x(
