1. NHL Hockey is NEVER coming back- accept it.
I'm more convinced each day that the NHL is now a dead horse. Even if they have a season next year, they've lost so many fans and money. The league was already going into the Red, now it's only a matter of time before the league folds. Something else will replace the NHL, but who knows what and probably will only have a handful of teams.

2. Not in its old form
but something may come out of the ashes. The "Southern Experiment" will end, but there are MANY, MANY hockey fans along the northern US border and Canada. It is because of the exchange rates that the Canadian teams went south (Winnipeg to Phoenix, Quebec to Colorado).

The Wild fans in Minnesota will come back to the NHL in whatever form, we went without the North Stars for many years and have lots of hockey on many lower levels (kids, high school, college).

3. I'm with you Ed
Being a native Minnesotan myself, we never really lost Hockey Fever here. Heck, the state high school hockey tournaments are broadcast live on statewide TV, after all-- tell me THAT'S not dedication!

Quite frankly, I won't be too sad if the NHL died and reorganized along the lines of a semi-pro league. The NHL made its biggest mistake when it tried to become a "family" sport and went to the big sun-belt cities. I mean, come on, do we really need a pro team named after a kids movie (Anaheim Mighty Ducks)????

Pro hockey will come back, but we probably won't recognize it at first.

4. I never noticed that they are gone.
Hockey? Didn't really know it wasn't happening. I'm out of it.
