Guitar players - when you began what did you REALLY wanna learn?
Three things, I wanted to learn the solo from Looking out my backdoor, the intro to Mr. Tambourine man (byrds version) and the hook to ticket to ride.

8. I can't afford to donate yet
(student with sudden medical problems) so could you do a favor? You should post a poll and find out which member of the band gets the LEAST action.

My money is on the guitarist, hands down goin' away!

10. HA! Nah, that might be taken as a sex thread.
Regardless, I'd guess it would be the drummer. I mean, he may GET groupies, but he's usually not bright enough to know what to DO with them. :D

6. I wanted to learn how to play
like Jeff Beck does on Led Boots

It's better to learn how he plays on Goodbye Pork Pie Hat.

Other than that I wanted to learn Aerosmith's version of Train Kept a rollin'

11. Led Boots was my favorite Beck tune
until I heard his more recent "What Mamma Said." Incidentally; the sound sample "did y'all hear what mamma said" was from the movie "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, world." I thought that was sorta cool!

16. I did not know that!
LOL. I can picture it in my mind now. :-)

I really think he's invigorated himself. I like his albums Jeff and Who Else? and You Had it Coming a lot.

Suspension from 'You Had it Coming' is a beautiful thing. I can see his fingertips on the strings if I listen closely.

19. I hadn't seen that movie for about 25 years
but it was on last week; I think, anyhow I caught the end of it, the whole crew is together Ethel Merman is being abrasive and her son let's loose with DID Y'ALL HEAR WHAT MAMMA SAID!" I was stunned.

Back to Jeff Beck though--is Jennifer Batten still with him? I saw them on tour five or six years ago, and was floored.

I suppose I could always check with my brother, he's an absolute Beck fanatic. (hey do you remember a day when you said "Beck" and everybody knew you meant Jeff?

13. I play bass. I still think I count.
It was Rush, Iron Maiden and Metallica when I started out in the 80s. I was such a headbanger (and unfortunately, a naïve neocon, until a 10th grade hist'ry teacher made me see the light).

14. EVERYthing
I was lucky enough to have had two buddies that had been taking lessons, and they showed me all of the Stones and Beatles stuff I could handle, which is what I wanted, along with Yardbyrds, Standells, etc . . . .

I remember working hard on my own to figure out how to play Incense & Peppermints and What Condition My Condition Was In. EUREAKA!!!!!
