3. *now take it slow...
" Tighten up " was a hit in San Francisco the Summer of Love I believe...... it was blasting everywhere. I had an x rated experience on Alameda Beach with that blasting from a car in the parking lot :)

7. Hi, I'm Archie Bell
from the Drells, from Houston, TX,
and we not only sing, but we dance just as good as we want.
In Houston, we just started a new dance called the "Tighten Up."
This is the music we tighten up with.

NOW MAKE IT MELLOW!

8. I thought he said
"We dance just as good as we walk". hmmm.

Anyhow, I met a Drell (can't remember which one) when I was in Memphis a few years ago. I think his band was playing at the Rum Boogie Cafe. I would've gone, but I had tickets to see Bonnie Raitt that night.

9. Sounds like "want"
on the 45 I have. Then again, just 'cause it sounds like one thing to me doesn't mean it isn't really something else....

10. I've got about 20 of his records in my collection...

...including both parts of "Tighten Up."
