Man did the 80's ever suck! How can so much guitar talent be wasted on such bad music?

2. The '00's suck balls compared to the 80's.

I cannot think of one truly good thing that came out of this decade.

On edit: listening to the early VH is more and more reminiscient of listening to Led Zeppelin. Those recordings had fire, they were fast and loose and it reflected in the live material the same way it is reflected on Live Led Zeppelin or Live Black Sabbath. The recordings all came from the DLR era of the band. 1978-1984

3. Was one of the bootlegs
called 'On Fire?' That is an awesome live recording.

The 80's were FAR superior to the 90's and beyond if you asked me. The 90's 'sound' was done better by obscure bands of the 80's and without corporate influence.

Judge the 80's by MTV and you have the worst decade in the history of RnR. Judge it by indie label bands and it is the best IMO.

5. The song "On Fire" was on most of these bootlegs.
I have to say, I liked a lot of the 90's music, until about 1998-99. THat was when teen pop and Limp (dick) Bizkit and Kid (cock) Rock got big. That is when it went downhill from where I stand. But Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, even mellower acts like Dave Matthews Band, Blues Traveller, Barenaked Ladies, Collective Soul were good. I enjoyed a lot of what the 90's brought until late in the decade when I felt disaffected by those I mentioned above.

4. Personally I prefer the 90's
over either of those decades. Still, there are a lot of new bands I like better than Van Halen even if their guitar player isn't as talented.

7. Fair Warning was Damn good.
IT was dark and brutal. Diver Down was a fun record. 1984 was an excellent record even if it was their most poppy with Roth and set up some of what came later on under Hagar.
