I'm back and nothing appears to have changed....
I have been away from DU for almost two months now (we just had a baby girl and we have been very busy). After reading some of the posts in general discussion over the last few days, it seems we DUers are having the same arguments as before-

1. "My candidate is more liberal than your candidate"
2. "I can't vote for _______ because he supported the war in Iraq" 3. "I won't vote for _______ because he/she is too liberal and is therefore unelectable"
4. "I won't vote for _______ because he is dull like Al Gore"
5. "I won't vote for _______ because he is a member of the DLC"
6. "I won't vote for _______ because he entered the race too late"

It's nice to see things haven't changed around here. I just hope to count more Bush-bashing threads than Democratic candidate-bashing threads.

Rich

P.S. Our baby is doing fine- she is so darn cute and sweet!

2. How the heck do you attach pictures to posts?
Edited on Sun Oct-05-03 02:13 PM by Redleg
Without linking to a website containing the pictures?

3. GD Has Some New Rules
Too many people were complaining (myself included) about the venom expressed over one or another canidate. Hopefully, it should be more civil.

Congradulations to your family. It sounds like you're going to have your hands full now and when she starts to date. :scared:

5. Congratulations Redleg!
Hope you are getting some rest now. The first few months with baby are big time sleep deprivation months.

I agree, shooting oneself in the foot prior to a marathon race is hardly the answer to running the race.

6. I don't see it
I see some interesting threads on GD, and don't see any dem bashing at all.

Congratulations on the healthy, happy little one!

9. I guess most of the really negative posts have been banned
by the moderators. I still see a few.

7. Thank you all for the congrats!
You are all so kind. Yes, we have definitely gotten less sleep these last 8 weeks but things are getting better. My job is fairly flexible (except when I have to teach or go to a department meeting). I just pretty much put my research onto the back burner- at least until Winter break kicks in.

I do love looking into my baby's eyes and seeing her smile and make sounds. I do love seeing her mother, my wife, holding her and seeing them looking at each other. Just amazing!
