Now what am I gonna do?
Baseball is over...not too interested in the next game...chilly overcast October day...perfect sport watching weather.

BUT NO GME ANYMORE!

God damn it NHL start early!

Here's the order in which the press covers sports in DC

Redskins
Wizards (could be different w/o Jordan now)
U of Maryland Sports
The O's
NASCAR
Back to the Redskins
High School SPorts
Other Local Collges
Boxing/Wrestling
Maybe More Redksins

then the Capitals


If I'm exaggerating, it's not by much.

The only reason the Caps are losing money is because Abe Polin still owns the Wizards and the MCI Center. Even when the Caps play, Polin gets the money from the concessions, merch (sold at MCI), etc.

It's not good, but it's not dire. Leonsis has the $$$ to last a while.

Once POlin sells it all to Leonsis and his group, it should stabilize

8. and washington's not as bad off
I mean at least it's in hockey country - kind of. But teams in sunbealt areas I just don't get.

Youth hockey has slowly been on the rise here. The Caps even have local kids, Halpern and now Werner (2003 draft)

It's just that the Redskins 'own' the town/area

I live in a town where the only team that DOES exsist is an NHL team (sort of) Years ago the NBA expanded here...no one went. And when the team left, everyone was happy because the ice at the games would be better.

I know the midwest USA is hockey country, wouldn't mind checking out that area one time...maybe go to a Wild or Wings game

He just hates to lose to anyone he thinks is inferior.

He may be a great writer and thinker, but just send him a transcript to the latest Sox game to whatever Hotel he's staying at in Europe now.
