3. Always thought it was Marcel Duchamp.
Along with several other people, of course, but Duchamp is the most well-known, and it's generally his work that comes to mind when you mention "Dada" to someone.

Or his altered Mona Lisa...spoken aloud, the letters at the bottom, LHOOQ, sound like "elle a chaud au cul" (she has a hot ass).

I'm trying to recall the name of an eccentric French politician -- I think he may have held a government post in the inter-war years -- who was credited with a very unorthodox style, and may have inspired some of the Dadaists.

5. There are strong arguments for Hugo Ball,
but I don't think any one person can take credit. On the other hand, Hugo Ball DID have the best name.
