5. Last Soviet Ambassador to United States

Credit the Beatles with bringing down the Soviet Union.

One thing even the most virulent Rightwing Libertarian agrees should be handled by the government is warfare. The only condition under which Rightwingers believe Communism could possibly succeed is one of complete isolation.

So what did Churchill and Truman force upon the Soviet Union? A state of constant warfare in which we laid seige to (isolated) the Soviet Union.

Pretty freakin' stupid when you think about it.

Now, personally, I think it was Nixon and Detente(sp?) that led to the Soviet Union's collapse. The Beatles may have, by then, begun "corrupting" the Soviet people. But we know Nixon didn't jump on the bandwagon (pun not intended). He right out said in the Kitchen Debate while Vice President under Ike that the Soviet Union would collapse if the people ever got a peek at our goods.

7. Older Welsh

Credited the Beatles with destroying the Welsh language. They made speaking English "cool".

On the plus side the language has seen a revival since. And now it's perfectly legal. I don't believe the British have executed anyone for the crime of speaking Welsh since 1969.

4. Ever notice that women hate the Stooges?
The Stooges certainly left an impression on our culture, but the Beatles were in the middle of a cultural war.
