Pale Male and his "wife" Lola

the red tailed hawks whose nests were destroyed by Paula Zahns husband and company in NYC might be rebuilding.
The co-op after much public outcry agreed to build a proper nest and it appears that pale male and lola might be doing that.

5. I will continue to follow Pale Male

and his "wife", Lola. Someone has to keep DU posted on this terrible insult to nature to let the Paula Zahn repugs and company keep nature from being able to exist except under their perception of how nature should act. How nature "should act". That is the very heart of the dispute in this forum.

Pale Male might have other locations. I am keeping a watch on it. I hope they come back, but in a way it would be fitting if the hawks left those "infidels" and sought other quarters. the co-op has put up this expensive cradle to accomodate the hawks. It almost seems like a rich person's invitation that a respectable hawk should turn down. In a way I hope Pale Male shuns them and finds another home. It's a really good way to say F... you. So, I would like to see the nest again, yet, no. In some ways I it would be better if the hawks told them to f... off.

10. growing up in NYC I never saw hawks coons or possums

now I see a hawk regularly on my drive past JFK airport, sometimes two in that area. Coons and possums are around to be spotted regularly. In the last 3 years I've spotted some humming birds too, never before saw them in this area near the south Queens border.
