6. Did you see my list?
God, I love that stuff; Patsy makes me want to break up with Michael for the night so I can go to a dive and cry in my beer---but, he would have to come with me, and it would ruin the effect.

12. I like country
Edited on Sat Feb-05-05 05:53 PM by FreedomAngel82
I like a good mixture of new and old country. Some of my favorites are definietly Patsy Cline, Willie Nelson, Martina McBride, Terri Clark, Alison Krauss, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis and Kenney Chesney to name a few.

5. First love is R 'n' R, but yeah
Listening to the Ramones right now, but would be happy to be hearing Merle Haggard, Jimmy Rogers, Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, etc.

My favourite is Merle. Johnny Cash too.

13. I like *real*country music...
...as opposed to that crap they're playing on the FM "country" stations nowadays. Some of the songs to which you linked are good examples of the kind of C&W I like.

Classic and contemporary pop country don't even sound like the same genre to me. Contemporary pop country is God awful.

Edited on Sat Feb-05-05 08:57 PM by GOPisEvil
Modern C&W radio is shit (in my not-so-humble opinion).

The old school cC&W is awesome. My favorite old school C&W artist is Merle Haggard.

26. I love some of the giants
Hank Williams Sr., Jimmie Rodgers, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Lefty Frizzell, The Flatlanders (and each of the 3 principal members as solo artists - Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Joe Ely, and Butch Hancock), and a smattering of others here and there.

Always been concerned less with genre than 'does it speak to me? or for me? or both?'.
