Grand Canyon pictures

I went rafting in the canyon for 8 days last summer, and then almost immediately afterwards I went for a two week trip into the boundary waters. It was awesome. I love showing off my GC pics most of all. Take a look and feel free to use them for desktops or something (they are amazing)

-the other raft going downriver

-My favorite picture- a tributary to the Colorado river called havasu creek

-a LONG hike leads to this cool indian granary overlooking the river.

I went with some peers (17 year olds) so I do not think that most of them would be anything anyone would want to see. I will dig out some, however.

The most distressing thing to me is how Shurbs policies are and will hurt these places... it's disgusting.

I will post some Boundary Waters picture in this thread later. I have some good ones but I am downloading something right now so I don't want that to slow down (damn 56k)

For my 40th birthday, I took a lone road trip, just got in the car and drove aimlessly. I ended up crossing into Arizona and thought, "I'll go to the Grand Canyon" which I'd never seen. On the morning of my birthday, I found myself standing on the rim of the canyon - it was January and the sky was bright blue and there was snow on the ground. It dusted the tops of the canyon walls but the sheer faces were clear - they almost seemed warm because they were so red.

It was the most beautiful and awe inspiring sight I've ever seen and I'm so glad I went. It was and remains the best birthday I've ever had.
