Atlanta lost, no big deal really, but I'm southern and I was supposed to be pulling for them, I guess. Titans lost yesterday, but I'm pretty sure the world is not coming to an end over that either.
But, the thing that really compells me to want to get tight, is that Ahhnold "fuckin', nazi lovin', female gropin'" Swarzennegger may win govenor of California tomorrow. How did the world get upside down, and bush* become our resident and thief, and Ahhnold is about to bag one of the most politically prized positions in this country, tell me I'm having a nightmare, and pass me another beer, or tell me there's a Bustamante upset in the offing.
Oh, well, all the drama aside, WUTHERING HEIGHTS, TESS OF THE D'ARBERVILLES or FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD? Your favorite English authored love story? I lean towards Far from the Madding Crowd.

2. Well there is another option
Could you cheer up a little and try not to bum me out?

BTW, if you are in California, don't get too snookered to vote tomorrow. OK?

3. The Red Sox just came back from an 0-2 deficit
to win three straight games and take the series. There is hope in the world every single day.

5. The Steelers stunk up the joint yesterday
I think the recall will fail, and although I really liked all three of your picks, I prefer anything Austin. I took a compilation of her works out of the library in high school, and have re-read them over and over and over. Definitely Austin! BTW, I am enjoying a gin and tonic right now.

Did you notice, all of your picks are depressing? What's up with that?

6. Yeah, Nomaco, get blitzed if you want to...
I'm sitting here in California, ready to pound some brewskis myself. Only problem is, I have jury service tomorrow. So, I have to sit here sober, contemplating Arnie the Octopus as Guv.

Dear Lord, why do you love Republicans more than Democrats? And if you do, why do you have such lousy taste in friends?

Just asking...

7. Anthony Trollope
"He Knew He Was Right"--more of a Hate Story than a Love Story, though....in fact, it's a totally inverse love story

8. I guess you can tell ...
I'm a Thomas Hardy fan, but I have to admit, I did not care for The Mayor of Casterbridge. I got more than a little perturbed with all the silly lies that all the main characters told that perpetuated so much misery in so many lifes. I have to remove myself from the 21st century and try to understand what it was like to live with the moral idioacy in that era, but then again, that's the reason for reading period pieces, an escape to a different time.
I can only imagine some moron reading the secret loves and tender desires of bush* and pickles in 2090. BARF
