Too much blather in here about the "Sox" and the "Yankees" (whoever they are). :evilgrin:

Back to real baseball, National League style! The Cubbies are going to show those expansion team upstarts what Wrigleyville is all about!

10. off topic, but
does anybody know how the Sox guy who got bonked in the head is doing?

did you guys get the Chicago Trib a about three weeks ago with the Cubs/Sox sign?

I'm not in Chicago, physically, but my heart is there.

9. Four helicopters off my back deck - Go Cubs!
I'm sitting here in the computer room with 4 choppers buzzing around as I live quite close to Wrigley and they are observing the crowd. Its a beautiful Fall evening - only a Cub victory could improve it!

16. The media and Sammy
I for one am tired of the media always focusing on Sammy Sosa.

Tonight they introduced Sammy and his Chicago Cubs. The pregame montage was just Sammy, Sammy, Sammy.

Excuse me! This entire team has brought them this far. Wood, Prior, Borowski, Lofton, Alou, Ramerez, Grudzielanek, Karros, Simon have all contributed as much, no make that MORE, than Sammy in the post season.

It is like everything else the media reports. Shallow hype and lazy analysis.

They have made it this far without him. .188 now in the post-season? I have to agree with your assessment.

It's the pitching more than anything.

18. Alou has been doing great in the post season
Sammy will do better, everyone hits .188 in 5 games at a time in the regular season. But without pitching you won't advance far, the Cardinals didn't even go to the playoffs despite the fact McGwire hit 70 home runs.
