My dog is sick...need quick advice

My eight-year-old cocker spaniel has had a 24-hour (so far) bout with diarrhea and vomiting. she can't keep food or water down. she just had all her shots last week, if that's relevant.

My question is - if you were me, would you rush her to the vet or wait it out?

I would normally rush her to the vet, but I am so poor and they always get me for a few hundred bucks.

I'm sure some of you have this problem in your doggies! Please advise!

Not being able to drink when combined with diarrhea and vomiting, can be fatal to a dog in 24 hours.

doggies of any size can't take diarrhea like that for very long at all.
serious things can happen if treatment isn't sought soon.

5. Probably a vet trip.

Is she an inside or outside dog?
Possibly ate something bad/poisonous?
Cooked rice mixed in with regular dog food usually cured the runs for our German Shepherd.
The vomiting is a complication though.
Our vet has also prescribed regular old Pepto Bismol, either tablet or liquid, for an upset tummy.

That is if doesn't get worst by then. Feed it only cooked rice with a little cooked hamburger in it for now. Good luck.

Each time, it turned out to be alright, but we were really scared for our dog. Take away the food and water. Give water after she has notvommitted for several hours. Feed her eggs and rice The cheaper option) or the special bland stuff that they give at the vet. Most over the counter remedies for digestion problems are safe for dogs in a kiddie dose, but check with the vet to be safe.
