Has anyone's cat had conjunctivitis?

If so, do you remember how long it took your kitty to respond to medications? My ten year old baby has it now and has been on Terramycin ophthalmic ointment and Zeniquin since Wednesday. :cry:

Usually clears up in a week or so with antibiotics, but don't neglect to continue the treatment for the full prescribed regimen even if it does clear up before the end. It can come back, and be harder to treat the second time around.

Your post is reassuring. My cat usually responds very quickly to meds, but this time I was concerned because he's responding slowly. I'll definitely continue treatment as prescribed.

3. conjunctivitis can respond slowly due to the nature of the cornea...

...and conjunctivae of the eye-- the cornea in particular is poorly vascularized and it's naturally resistent to absorbing material from it's surface, so getting sufficient antibiotic in there can take time.
