2. do you mean the reddish-orange "ladybug" beetles?
I think of Japanese beetles as being greenish/metalic.

We started getting swarms of the ladybugs on Sunday (Southern Indiana).

3. I guess we need more tax cuts for the wealthy and a bombing campaign
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 02:56 PM by transeo
The tax cuts will generate a team of exterminators who will take care of the problem. Then, by bombing Japan we'll teach them to keep those terrorist beetles to themselves. Then we'll hire Halliburton to rebuild Japan and clean up the beetle carcasses, and give them a tax credit for a job well done. That's the ticket.

:hi:

4. Get yourself a Beetle trap.
Edited on Tue Oct-07-03 02:58 PM by GumboYaYa
They use pheremones to attract the beetles to a bag with a neck in it. The beetles go into the bag and can't get out. They work very well.

7. No....get your NEIGHBOUR to get a trap...
And tell him the corner of his yard furthest from your yard is the best place to hang it.

Those things do work. if you don't have beetles, just hang one up, they'll come running....

5. They freak me out
I was trying to shingle the roof of my utiltiy shed last fall and they attacked me. They bite. I was on the end of a too short ladder and it was really too dangerous to continue. My wife laughed at me hysterically and still does that I was thwarted by those nasty "ladybugs" Yes, I know they aren't actually ladybugs...

8. Asian painted beetles!
They're everywhere here, too! They have been about for about a month now. My husband got bitten by one yesterday.

9. Michigan is under attack!
It has been practically below 50 for the last few weeks. Today is is 70 and all of a sudden the damn ladybug/beetles are out! They get in your house thru the windows, even if they are locked shut. Those fuckers could find their way into a bank vault. Worst of all is they bite and they smell funky!

10. we had those in our orchards in oregon
I hate when they molt and their carcasses are hanging
from trees. The fact that they are about as big as
trucks didn't help either. They didn't last long. That
was the best part, the ugly icky things.
