what it is about dog owners that prevents them from walking their animal in the alley or at least away from people's steps or front yards?

when i was kid, you'd get yelled at by someone for walking your dog out front. YOU HAD TO WALK YOUR DOG IN THE BACK. that way the sidewalk doesn't smell like dog shit when the snow thaws.

I live on a hillside, which puts my door about 3 feet lower than ground level. I cannot tell you the number of times I have opened up my door to that that-smell. and clouds of poo flies:puke:

I came home from the hospital and an over night at my brother's in November, and what was the first thing I had to do? Hunt down the Great dane size lurking stool in the bushes and remove it.

Dog poo is not only smelly, it carries disease, parsites and in Paris, about 600 ER room visits a year (slippage). I am, for the most part against the death penalty, but I think people who won't, don't or can't pick up their dogs' shit need to be shot.

When I was there, I saw many dogs just running the streets. And these were not mutts. There were lots of purebreds and believe it or not, quite a few of them were French poodles.

of feral poodles running around paris causing mayhem (cf. the monkey-shenanigans in India).
