I saw him in concert once....please forgive me it was prior to him profiteering from the terrorists attacks and I've since purged my CD collection of him and almost all country music.

I understand what you are saying, and I completely understand the differences, but isn't it a freeper technique to boycott (ala Dixie Chicks, who I also like musically) artists that have a different political opinion?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling you a freeper, I'm just saying, if you like the music you like the music, no? As illustrated above, the worst thing you can be accussed of is bad taste. :-)

I think Alan Jackson is a conservative, but I like his music anyway. It's pretty apolitical.

"Pancho and Lefty" and "Okie from Muskogee" are two of my favorite songs ever. Can you give me a few more that are similar? My dad used to love "old school" country music, but back then I hated everything he liked so I blocked most of it out.

I wish I hadn't.

They go all the way back, and up to the early 80's...If I'm not listening to talk or a CD, I'm listening to that.
