13. The Long Version is the Best
They chopped the hell out of it to fit the time constraints of Top 40 Radio in the '60s. The full-length version with the complete instrumental is a classic.

The Gilberto in the title of the album is actually Joao Gilberto. Astrud was his wife, and she was coerced into singing on the record since she was the only one comfortable speaking English.

26. That was my favorite song in 1976
I was 8 years old when it came out, and blasted it on any jukebox I could find it on. I like their other hits, but am disappointed this doesn't get airplay anymore. "Ballroom Blitz" and "Love Is Like Oxygen" (which do still get airplay on the local classic rock station) are fun tunes, but don't have the same nostalgic weight for me.

And I love the whole Brazilian bossa nova thing. I have a Jobim CD with several discs-- many songs sung by Astrud Gilberto-- she was wonderful.
