He survives getting ripped in two by the Queen Alien's tail, the crash of the EEV, and being thrown away carelessly into a garbage dump. And through it all, keeps his mechanical demeanour, with just a touch of human-like warmth, sensitivity, and compassion...you almost pity him...that is all. :)
